Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to read and use these guides.
The Rustic Compass aims to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines. We’re a small site and this is ongoing work, so if something gets in your way we want to hear about it.
What we do
- Plain language, short paragraphs and clear headings.
- Colour contrast checked in both light and dark modes.
- Keyboard navigation and visible focus outlines throughout.
- Descriptive link text and labelled form fields.
- Spoken audio summaries of every course module.
- Printable versions of the worksheet and course for offline reading.
- Text that reflows and stays readable when you zoom in.
Known limits
- Audio summaries use your device’s built-in voice, so quality varies by device.
- Saved progress relies on browser storage, which private browsing may block.
